I know that we have had less than desirable weather this week, but as if we wrote it ourselves in a book, we are expecting fabulous weather tomorrow and Sunday (mid 70’s and plenty of sunshine)…that is if the meteorologist get it right…haha. I hope to see and meet as many new people as I can tomorrow. It will be a very busy day for Tom, I and the staff, but if everyone is having a great time, it is all worth the effort that will be put forth. I wish that all the attendees have a wonderful time at the World Famous Wigwam Resort on Lake of the Woods this weekend! Before I go into the fishing report, I just wanted to take a second and go over all the different species of fish that we have caught this year in Lake of the Woods. I know that we are known to be the Walleye Capitol of the World, here in Baudette, MN on Lake of the Woods, but we have many different species of fish that are being caught out of Lake of the Woods that should get there day in the lime light. We have caught Monster Lake Trout, Musky, Northern Pike, Perch, Sauger, Small Mouth Bass, Sturgeon and Walleye this summer. So if you’re looking to be put on some different species of fish this summer other than Walleye, don’t hesitate to give us a call at the World Famous Wigwam Resort on Lake of the Woods and let us, PUT YOU ON THE FISH!!!!

Daily Fishing Report: Today will be cloudy with a few showers, high 64F with winds NNW at 10 to 20 mph…there will be a 30% chance of rain. Tonight we will have some clouds this evening that will give way to mainly clear skies overnight, low 49F with winds N at 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow we will see sunny skies, high 74F with winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph…finally!!!! Tomorrow night will be clear skies, low 52F with winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph. Today’s fishing report will be no different than yesterdays, with the exception of the weather report…so here we go. Our fishing report will come from me and our guides (Tom Briggs and Billy Kloos). Zipple Bay is producing some Monster Walleyes right now…over the weekend I know for a fact that there were at least 6 fish caught there that were over 29 inches. Two days ago, Tom and I went to Zipple in 29 and 23 feet of water, even in the wind and rain, and we were still catching fish. We were having the best success with Lime Green/Chartreuse Jigs with Frozen Shiners as Bait. Because of the wind and rain this great fishing might not continue for the next few days until the water clears up…whenever we get these high winds the fish usually slow with their bite. After the water clears in the next few days we should continue the great bite we’ve been having this summer. Also, when the wind dissipates keep Morris Point in front of the washout and the west side of Pine Island the fish are still biting like crazy on the hammered gold spinners and crawlers. Tom and Billy have been heading out into the big water in about 32 to 36 feet of water in the mud and anchoring and jigging. Their approximate location is about 5 miles north of Long Point towards Garden Island and approximately 7 miles north of Morris Point. They have been having success using Pink/Gold, Chartreuse/Orange and Chartreuse/Pink Jigs with frozen shiners as bait. This past weekend Tom went to this area and caught 9 Walleyes over 26”…WOW!!!! Don’t miss out on this great fishing that we’re having on Lake of the Woods…come visit us today at the Wigwam Resort on Lake of the Woods!

Today my “shout out” will go out to all the guests that have stayed with us this summer. I wanted to thank all of you personally, from the bottom of my heart, because of you, I am able to live the life I have always dreamed of, and for that I thank you. So here’s a big “Wigwam Shout Out” to all of you! I hope to see all of you back here very soon and thank you again for being our guests at the World Famous Wigwam Resort on Lake of the Woods.

Happy Fishing to all, and to all a good day!
