Welcome to another edition of the Wigwam Fisherman’s
The next few days will be very windy on Lake of the Woods, so I’m going to try to get up to Little Oak Island tonight and fish up north tomorrow. I don’t know if the wind will allow me to do this, but I’m going to give it the old “college try”. I will post and let you know how my experience was this Wednesday when I get back to civilization…haha. I plan to fish with Scotty Olmstead, one of Tom’s really good friends from the Twin Cities area. I don’t know what I’ll be searching for, maybe the Musky’s, maybe the Smally’s, I just don’t know yet, but one things for sure, I’ll be fishing!
If you haven’t become a fan of the Wigwam Resort-low on Facebook, what are you waiting for? I’m posting on there daily and have found it a great way to communicate with everyone on a regular basis. I will be posting all of our weekly meal specials and drink specials on

Today’s “Quote of the Day”…”Be courteous to all, but intimate with few; and let those be well-tried before you give them your confidence.” - George Washington. WOW…I don’t remember learning this one in school. Maybe it should be taught…just my humble opinion. Our first President and one of our Founding Fathers had it right on with this one. My Father tried to instill these principles in each of our family members, and it has helped me meet people and surround myself with good quality friends throughout my life. I challenge you all to reflect on this quote and live by these words, and together let us make this world a better place…God Bless.

My shout out today will go out to all the Wigwam employees. This weekend I was approached by a number of our first time guests and they were so impressed with our staffs attitude and willingness to interact with the guests. We have a great crew working with us here at the Wigwam Resort and I want to personally thank each of them for all their hard work, and also for showing up here each and everyday with great attitudes for the guests. I know first hand that everyone has their own problems they face at home, and it is a testament to our staff that they can place personal issues on the back burner to make sure our guests have an AWESOME experience on Lake of the Woods, the Walleye Capitol of the World! Thanks again to the entire Wigwam Resort Staff!
Happy Fishing to all, and to all a good day!
